BIOGRAPHY OF CHUKWUEMEKA A. NNABUIFE ACIS


Chukwuemeka Albert Nnabuife ACIS is a distinguished Nigerian legal practitioner, author, scholar, researcher, and advocate known for his expertise in law, psychological approaches to legal practice, and commitment to social justice. Born and raised in Lagos State, Nigeria.  Nnabuife has built a robust career spanning over two decades, blending academic excellence, professional legal service, and community engagement. 

Nnabuife’s academic journey began at Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo Campus, where he earned a Bachelor of Laws (LL. B) with Second Class Upper Division Honors from 2002 to 2008. During his undergraduate years, he distinguished himself as the Best Student in Law of Torts in 2004, foreshadowing his analytical prowess and dedication to legal scholarship. He furthered his legal training at the Nigerian Law School, Lagos Campus, obtaining his B.L. in 2009. Nnabuife capped his formal education with a Master of Laws (LL.M General) from LASU’s Postgraduate School in 2013, graduating with a perfect CGPA a testament to his intellectual rigor. 

Professionally, Nnabuife has held significant roles across various sectors of the legal field. Since February 2022, he has served as Senior Counsel at Tunde and Adisa Legal Practitioners in Lagos, where he handles a diverse caseload including family law, criminal law, civil law, and real estate law. A hallmark of his practice is his innovative use of psychological skills to manage client mindsets and navigate judicial perspectives, enhancing his effectiveness in pretrial conferences, client briefings, and courtroom advocacy. His commitment to corporate social responsibility shines through his pro bono work, particularly for individuals with mental health challenges, disabilities, and the less privileged, addressing their legal and emotional needs. 

Prior to this, from May 2020 to January 2022, Nnabuife worked as an Associate at Ogbodu Ogbe & Associates in Lagos, focusing on criminal law, real estate, and family law matters such as divorce, child custody, and domestic violence. Earlier, he spent nearly a decade (January 2011 to March 2020) as Legal Manager at Agwut A. International Limited, where he ensured corporate compliance, represented the company in legal disputes, and advised on business negotiations, honing his skills in corporate governance and legal strategy.

Nnabuife’s scholarly contributions include his 2015 publication, "Documentary Credit on International Trade Financing: Its Nature and the Legal Implications," published in the Research Journal of Finance and Accounting (Vol. 6, No. 6). This work reflects his deep interest in international trade law, stemming from his LL.M research. Beyond formal publications, he has shared his knowledge through tutorials with junior students at LASU and mentorship programs focused on career development and public speaking. 

A member of the Nigerian Bar Association and an Associate Member of the Certified Institute of Shipping of Nigeria (ACIS), Nnabuife holds certifications in MIS Skills (2019) and shipping (2017), alongside a 2022 Certificate of Attendance from the NBA-ICLE. His multilingual proficiency in English, Yoruba, and Pidgin Creole, coupled with strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, enhances his ability to connect with diverse clients and communities. 

Nnabuife’s dedication to community service is evident in his pro bono efforts, prison visitations, and advocacy for detainees’ release and bail. Outside his professional life, he enjoys reading, writing, research, football, and traveling pursuits that reflect his inquisitive and dynamic personality.
